Recap of Usrah Budi 3
Alhamdulillah, throughout this semester I have experienced a lot of ups and downs due to the new norm of online learning and Covid-19 cases. However, one of the best memories came from the Usrah Budi 3 classes with my wonderful naqibah, Sister Azlin and amazing classmates!
Every class was filled with excitement and insightful understanding on the topics discussed. I learned how to become a better Muslim and that it is our duty as a khalifah to spread goodness to others.
The assignments given were also fun to do and at the same time, it contains learning objectives that help us to further understand the course.
What I liked most about this course for this semester is that the naqibah was very kind and had helped us a lot with our classes. She also did her best to understand us and could tolerate the problems faced by students.
Although this semester was a bit stressful and hectic due to the shortened number of lecture weeks and the lockdown experienced by students who resided in the campus, yet it did not stop my friends and I from enjoying our Usrah Budi 3 classes.
We had gotten to know each other despite being from different kulliyyahs which allowed us to expand our circle of friends.
In this modern era, it is important for us to have a good network and know a lot of people to improve our communication skills in dealing with others.
Not only that, we were also assigned groups with random people who we never knew before which is a new experience for us in carrying out our assignments. As a result, we have managed to maintain a close bond with one another as a part of ukhuwah.
It was also soothing to hear as every session was given motivational tips and moral support by Sis Azlin which is highly needed in this current state of pandemic.
To conclude, this semester has given us wonderful memories and in-depth understanding about Islamic values. As such, it is hoped that all of us can apply the teachings in our daily life and also share it with the people around us. In shaa Allah =)

An avid reader
Indulge into the world of fantasy
A lifelong book collector
Everyone has their own pastime, either cooking, swimming, or playing sports. As for me, I prefer to spend my time with reading books, newspapers, magazines, or any written piece. Since I was small, I enjoyed reading books to the point of reading multiple books in a day. One of the places I look forward to going is the bookstore. I could spend hours browsing through books displayed in the shop. Similarly, the library is like a safe haven for me; a place where I can escape from reality for a short moment.
It is through the act of reading that I can feel the emotions portrayed by the characters in the book, especially if you have stumbled upon an amazing story. Putting down a good book would be difficult as your mind has already been engulfed with the story. A good writer is one who manages to capture the reader's interest to continue reading page by page.
I believe that reading is magical; it brings you into your own world full of fantasy. Putting yourselves at the character's shoes would create a lot of excitement and also suspense as to what would happen next.
There are numerous benefits of reading such as increasing your vocabulary by introducing you to new words; words which you have never heard before. Reading will also let us gain knowledge and apply it in our daily lives. Not only that, reading serves as a form of relieving stress, as a good book can brighten up our gloomy day.
One of my favourite authors would be Mitch Albom. His books are one of a kind, they contain heartwarming stories which causes tears to form in your eyes. We can empathise with the characters as if you are in their current situation.
His books for example, 'For one more day' tells the story of a son and his mother, where the son wishes that he could have just another day to spend time with his mother.
